The institute is located at the free natural hilly area of the Manda beside the main road. It is about 1 Km. from the Bus Station. There is a Government Industrial Training Institute (G ITI) in front of this polytechnic. LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI NATIONAL MEMORIAL TRUST is a registered under the Charitable Trusts Act 1950 which has been created in the memory of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri , the second prime minister of India as its steering committee resolved in 1966 to collect contributions to be devoted to objects dear to the heart of Shastri ji. So as to perpetuate his memory and appeal was issued by Dr Radha Krishnan, the then President of India for the contribution of the trust.

Sunil Shastri (born 13 February 1950) is an Indian politician and a former cabinet minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Before joining politics, he served the Bank of India as an Officer in different capacities for fourteen years. He was also elected to Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Gorakhpur Urban assembly constituency as INC candidate.

Anil Kumar Shastri (born 4 June 1948) is an Indian politician and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress. He is known for his outspoken views. Presently, he is Chairman of the Hindi Department in All India Congress Committee. He was elected to the ninth Lok Sabha from Varanasi in 1989 as member of Janata Dal and was a Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India.
